Project Details:
Lynnwood Arts will provide studio space for the visiting artist to create new works in the months of April and May. Each artist would have the opportunity to teach and lead 5 interactive workshops for classes from K-12 (sharing their process). These workshops may be virtual, or in person and will take place at Lynnwood on days that suit the artist. Each artist would be responsible for creating works to be showcased in the gallery in June 2022. The exhibition will be open to both our students and the community.
Upon closing the exhibit, the art will be returned to the artist. BHN will document the process to create a short video. With the artist’s permission, this short documentary will be available for all teachers to show their students and can be featured on social media platforms. Artists too will obtain access to this video for personal use and/or promotional purposes.
Five artists will be selected for this event. Each artist that participates will receive payment of $5,000 for their work. There is a separate workshop budget for student materials. Artists’ process and work will be shared and promoted on multiple social media platforms.
